History: | In 2005, the Board received and considered proposals to change the name of Mount Diablo to Mount Miwok, Mount Ohlone, or Mount Yahweh. In October 2005, these proposals were rejected. In 2010, the Board considered two additional proposals, to change the name to Mount Reagan or Mount John Muir. These proposals were also rejected, citing a lack of local and State support, and a reluctance to change a longstanding name. |
